3 SOCIAL APOSTOLATE

3.1 NATURE AND FUNCTIONS

3.1.1 COMMISSION ON SOCIAL ACTIONS (COSA)

3.1.1.1 Nature: The COSA is the highest diocesan body assisting the bishop in the social apostolate of the diocese.

3.1.1.2 Functions:

3.1.1.2.1 To set direction on the social apostolate of the Diocese.

3.1.1.2.2 To help formulate guidelines and policies regarding Social Action

3.1.1.2.3 To ensure implementation of guidelines and policies by all concerned.

3.1.2 SOCIAL ACTION CENTER (SAC)

3.1.2.1 Nature: The SAC is the Secretariat of Commission On Social Action and diocesan service center of the parishes’ social apostolates.

3.1.2.2 Functions:

3.1.2.2.1 To formulate plan and programs that will implement direction, policies and guidelines set by Commission On Social Action

3.1.2.2.2 To implement, monitor, and evaluate plans and programs it has formulated

3.1.2.2.3 To establish linkages with other groups, agencies, and institutions of related concerns.

3.1.2.2.4 To facilitate and/or provide basic services to the social apostolates of the different parishes.
